Boston College women’s basketball lost to Miami 82-70 on Sunday at Conte Forum. The defeat leaves the Eagles with a 4-24 overall record and winless in Atlantic Coast Conference play at 0-15. Miami improved to 13-12 overall and 5-9 in the ACC.

Lily Carmody led Boston College with 21 points, shooting 8-of-11 from the field, and added five rebounds and three assists. Kayla Rolph contributed 15 points, matching her season high, while Amirah Anderson scored 14 points. Erin Houpt finished with 12 points, making three of her four attempts from beyond the arc.

Anderson was active early, scoring nine of her points in the first quarter. Her efforts helped Boston College take a brief lead before Miami closed the period on an 8-1 run to go ahead 20-14.

Miami expanded its advantage in the second quarter with a 9-0 run and held a 46-29 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, Boston College narrowed the deficit to single digits after consecutive baskets highlighted by five points from Carmody. However, Miami responded late in the period to restore a double-digit margin.

Houpt opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer to cut into Miami’s lead, but the Hurricanes answered immediately and maintained control for the rest of the game.

Carmody’s performance marked her highest point total in ACC play this season and her third game with at least 20 points as a sophomore. Over two games this week, she averaged nearly 20 points per contest while shooting over sixty percent from the field. Rolph’s output tied her best mark of the year, while Houpt extended her streak of double-digit scoring games to four and is now just 22 points away from reaching one thousand career points.

Boston College will travel to Dallas for its next game against SMU on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
