Dave Flint has signed a new multi-year contract to remain the Northeastern women’s hockey head coach, according to a June 3 announcement by Director of Athletics and Recreation Jim Madigan. Flint is the winningest coach in program history with 397 wins and ranks 10th all-time among NCAA women’s hockey coaches with 485 career victories.
“I would like to thank Jim Madigan and Northeastern University for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to continue building this program,” said Flint. “With our incredible new facility on the horizon, the future of Northeastern women’s hockey has never been brighter. We have built a culture of success here that I am deeply proud of, and there is still so much more I want to accomplish. I cannot wait to see what this program continues to achieve.”
Flint has led the Huskies to four Frozen Four appearances, eight NCAA tournament appearances, six Hockey East tournament championships, and six Beanpot crowns. He holds the Hockey East all-time record with a tournament mark of 39-11, and Northeastern has appeared in ten consecutive Hockey East Championship games.
A five-time Hockey East Coach of the Year, Flint has overseen the development of four Patty Kazmaier top-three finalists: Florence Schelling (2012), Kendall Coyne Schofield (2016 award winner), Alina Mueller (2020, 2023), and Aerin Frankel (2021 award winner). He is recognized as an architect of Goaltender U., having mentored current Team USA stars Aerin Frankel and Gwyneth Philips, along with two-time National Goalie of the Year Semifinalist Lisa Jönsson.
