Dylan Hryckowian, assistant captain of the Northeastern men’s ice hockey team, signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars, according to a March 20 announcement. The signing comes after Hryckowian completed his third and final season with the Huskies.
Hryckowian played a significant role in helping Northeastern win the 2024 Beanpot Championship and reach the 2025 Hockey East semifinals at TD Garden. His performance earned him recognition as a 2026 Hockey East First Team All-Star and a nominee for the Hobey Baker Award. Over his collegiate career, he received three Hockey East award honors and was named twice to the Hockey East All-Academic Team.
During his time at Northeastern, Hryckowian scored 39 goals and provided 68 assists for a total of 107 points in 100 games. He became the first Husky since his brother Justin in the 2023-24 season to record 100 points as a junior, and only the 24th player in program history to achieve this milestone within three seasons or fewer. He also posted three consecutive seasons with at least 30 points, matching a feat last accomplished by Adam Gaudette from 2015 to 2018.
In his junior year, Hryckowian achieved career highs with 37 points on 15 goals and 22 assists over just 30 games. He led his team with thirteen multi-point games, tied for fourth in conference points within Hockey East (22), and ranked second among all skaters in overall scoring for the league.
Hryckowian is now the second member of Northeastern’s current roster to sign an NHL contract this postseason. Earlier, Vinny Borgesi signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 17.
