Four former members of the Boston College women’s hockey program played key roles in helping the United States win gold at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan. The U.S. team secured a 2–1 overtime victory against Canada, with alumna Megan Keller scoring the decisive goal that delivered Team USA its first Olympic gold medal since 2018.
The players representing Boston College were Cayla Barnes (class of 2023), Hannah Bilka (class of 2023), Alex Carpenter (class of 2016), and Megan Keller (class of 2019). All four contributed to the national team’s success throughout the tournament.
Barnes achieved her third career Olympic medal, having previously won gold in 2018 and silver in 2022. Carpenter also earned her third Olympic medal, adding this year’s gold to her previous silver medals from 2014 and 2022. Keller matched her teammates’ achievement by collecting her third Olympic medal as well, following gold in 2018 and silver in 2022.
For Bilka, this tournament marked her first appearance at the Olympics, where she secured her first career medal.
The Boston College women’s hockey program has now produced nine Olympians who have together won a total of seventeen Olympic medals: Kelli Stack (classes of 2010 and 2014), Molly Schaus (classes of 2010 and 2014), Emily Pfalzer (class of 2015), Haley Skarupa (class of 2016), Kali Flanagan (class of 2019), Megan Keller (2018, 2022, and 2026), Alex Carpenter (2014, 2022, and 2026), Cayla Barnes (2018, 2022, and 2026), and Hannah Bilka (2026).
