Sophomore Gabriella Mikaul of the Boston University women’s tennis team was named Patriot League player of the week, according to a March 24 announcement from the league.
The recognition highlights Mikaul’s recent performance and contributions to her team’s success. Awards like this are given to athletes who show strong results in their matches and support their teams in key moments.
Mikaul achieved a combined 2-0 record during Boston University’s match against Yale on Sunday. In doubles play, she partnered with junior Nancy Liu to defeat Yale’s No. 35-ranked duo, Orly Ogilvy and Leena Friedman, with a score of 7-6 (5). This victory secured the doubles point for Boston University. In singles competition, Mikaul won at the top spot with scores of 6-0, 4-6, and a close tiebreaker at 1-0 (6), earning her team its second point in the match.
According to the announcement, Mikaul is from Manalapan, New Jersey. Her performance reflects both individual skill and effective teamwork within collegiate athletics.
Mikaul and her teammates are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 28 when they face Navy at 4 p.m., as stated by Boston University.
