Boston University softball senior Haley Ganino has been named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week following her performance at the Duke Invitational. The announcement was made by the conference office on Monday.

Ganino, from Azusa, California, posted a 1.35 earned run average across four appearances during the tournament. She recorded both a win and a save, marking her first career weekly award and making her the fourth Terrier to receive Patriot League recognition this season. Earlier honorees include junior Kylie Doherty as Player of the Week, freshman Irys Kline as Rookie of the Week, and senior Kasey Ricard as Pitcher of the Week.

Ganino began her week with 4.1 scoreless innings against No. 20/23 Duke, helping Boston University secure a 9-8 victory in ten innings. She allowed four hits and one walk in that game for her third career win. On Friday, she retired all four batters she faced to earn her first career save in a 6-4 win over Northwestern.

In subsequent games, Ganino pitched a total of 4.2 innings with two strikeouts, allowing only one run each against Northwestern and Ohio State. Her efforts contributed to Boston University’s close contest in a 6-3 loss to Northwestern and their rebound with a 10-5 win over Ohio State.

The Terriers are scheduled to play next at Yale on March 7-8, facing both Yale and New Haven.
