First-year infielder Hannah Ziecik has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week following her performance at the FIU Classic in Miami. She is the second Harvard player to receive this honor during the 2026 season, joining Sheila Forbes.
Ziecik, from Waxhaw, North Carolina, led Harvard’s offense over the weekend with a .583 batting average, seven RBIs, and a slugging percentage of .833. In the tournament opener against South Dakota, she hit her first career home run—a grand slam in the first inning—becoming just the third Harvard player this season to record four RBIs in a single game. Ziecik also had two hits in each of three consecutive games and drove in at least one run in all four appearances during the event.
So far this season, Ziecik has played in 13 games and is third on the team in batting average (.382) and RBIs (9). Her OPS of .939 ranks second among Crimson players. She is one of four team members to have hit a home run this year.
Harvard’s next games are scheduled for March 14 and 15 when they will travel to Queens, New York to play against Army and St. John’s.
