Harvard University announced on May 22 a new series featuring random questions answered by Harvard experts. The series is part of a collection of features and graduate profiles that mark the university’s 375th Commencement.
The initiative aims to engage readers with lesser-known facts about Harvard, which has accumulated significant history over its 390-year existence and through its many Commencement ceremonies. Readers are invited to test their knowledge about the university in an interactive quiz format.
The feature includes insights from various members of the Harvard community, such as Blake Mincey, who is completing his physics degree at age 39 after careers as a soldier and professional drummer. Other highlights include an upcoming address by an Emmy-winning comedian to College graduates on May 27 and personal stories like that of Rosie Rines, who is achieving her long-held college aspirations.
Additional topics covered in the series range from research on oncology care by a Tufts professor to efforts advancing research into Harvard’s historical ties to slavery. The content also explores how these projects help descendants recover family histories and offers perspectives from individuals like Seth Rosenberg, who shifted focus from combat photography to studying the psychology of power.
The university says this ongoing series will continue to spotlight both academic achievements and personal journeys within the Harvard community.
