Harvard University senior Jimmy Harrington ended his participation at the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships on March 20 after competing in Cleveland, Ohio. Harrington advanced to the second day of the tournament at Rocket Arena but was eliminated in the consolation second round.

Harrington’s performance at the national tournament is notable as it marks his second consecutive appearance at the NCAAs. His journey included an upset win in overtime during Thursday’s first round, where he defeated No. 13 seed Derek Raike of Ohio with a score of 4-1 in sudden victory. The match saw Harrington score an escape early in the second period, while Raike responded with an escape to start the third frame, sending the bout into overtime tied at one point each. Harrington secured a takedown at the 1:24 mark of sudden victory to claim his win.

Following his opening-round success, Harrington faced No. 4 seed Kaleb Larkin from Arizona State and lost by fall in 2:42 during Thursday’s second round. In Friday’s consolation bracket, he was defeated by No. 19 seed Kai Owen of Columbia, who won by fall in 1:45.

For the season, Harrington earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy and Academic All-Ivy honors and led Harvard with a record of 22 wins and 10 losses. He also topped team statistics for dual wins (nine), Ivy dual wins (four), and major decisions (six).

Harrington’s achievements this season highlight his contributions to Harvard wrestling as he closes out his collegiate career.
