The No. 7 Harvard men’s lacrosse team will return to Ivy League action against the Brown Bears on Saturday, April 4, at Jordan Field in Boston. The Crimson, holding an 8-1 overall record and undefeated in conference play at 2-0, will seek to improve their standing with a win over Brown (5-4, 0-2 Ivy) in one of their final home games of the season.
This game carries importance for both teams as Harvard aims to maintain its strong start and remain unbeaten within the league. The Crimson recently suffered its first loss of the season against No. 4 North Carolina but had previously opened with eight straight wins—matching a program feat last achieved in 1961.
Harvard’s offense has been among the most efficient nationally this year, ranking second for shooting percentage at .358 and posting a scoring margin of +3.78 goals per game—the tenth highest in the country. Offensive Coordinator Neil Hutchinson has guided an attack that scores on nearly 39 percent of possessions. Jack Speidell leads Harvard with 36 points while teammates Nathan Cobery and Logan Ip are among national leaders for shooting accuracy at fifty percent each.
Brown enters the contest after a loss to Princeton but brings notable offensive strengths including one of the highest assist rates nationwide and successful special teams play. Marcus Wertheim leads Brown with thirty-four points this season.
The two programs have met seventy-nine times since their first meeting in 1925, with Harvard leading the series forty-four wins to thirty-five and winning each matchup since 2022 by just one goal.
Looking ahead, Harvard will continue its league schedule next weekend when it travels south to New Haven for a rivalry game against Yale.
