Men’s hockey at Harvard University will conclude its 2025-26 regular season with home games against Princeton and Quinnipiac this weekend at Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Both matchups are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be available to stream on ESPN+.

The team will recognize the Class of 2026 during Saturday night’s game against Quinnipiac as part of the annual senior night celebration.

Harvard currently leads the all-time series against Princeton, with a record of 166 wins, 62 losses, and 14 ties. Recent meetings between the Crimson and Tigers have been closely contested, with five out of six games decided by one goal. Princeton has won the last two encounters, while Harvard took the previous two before that. Against Quinnipiac, Harvard trails in their historical matchup, having won 19 times compared to Quinnipiac’s 22 victories and five ties. The Crimson last defeated the Bobcats at home in 2022.

In their most recent outings, Harvard lost both games on its final road trip of the regular season—falling to Union by a score of 4-1 and then losing to RPI, 3-1. Richard Gallant and Ryan Healey were responsible for Harvard’s only goals over that weekend.

After returning from a break earlier this year, Harvard suffered defeats on the road to both Quinnipiac and Princeton. In New Jersey against Princeton, Joe Miller and Salvatore Guzzo managed to tie the game in the third period after being down by two goals; however, Princeton scored late to secure victory.

Currently sitting fifth in ECAC Standings, Harvard is three points behind Princeton for fourth place and just one point ahead of Union in sixth place. The team has secured home ice advantage through at least the first round of playoffs. The top four seeds receive a first-round bye.

All six seniors on this year’s roster have played more than 100 career games—a milestone not reached by any class since at least 2002.

Casey Severo has continued his trend of scoring important goals for Harvard: “In 2023-24, seven of Casey Severo’s eight goals either tied the game, cut the deficit to one, or gave Harvard the lead. In 2024-25, 10 of his 16 goals tied the game or gave the Crimson the lead, with two more extending the lead to two. Over the past three seasons, 21 of his 33 goals have been go-ahead, game-tying, or cutting the deficit to one. Entering the weekend, Severo has eight game-winning goals in his career, which is tied for third dating back to 2002 and only trails Jimmy Vesey, Kyle Crisculo, Tyler Moy, and Alex Killorn.”

Ryan Healey stands out among defensemen: “Dating back to 2002, Ryan is only one of 10 Harvard defensemen to accumulate 50+ points. His 19 career goals are good for fourth among d-men, only trailing great Crimson such as Danny Beiga, Riley Walsh, and Adam Fox.”

Joe Miller is also approaching a significant achievement: “Miller is one of only 10 Crimson to record 90+ points in their career dating back to 2002.”

Goaltender Ben Charette recently contributed significantly during a four-game win streak by stopping nearly every shot he faced across those matches: “Ben Charette helped backstop the second four-game win streak of the season for the Crimson after stopping 103 of 106 shots over a stretch of four games in seven days. From the third period of the game against Clarkson to the third period of the game against Colgate a week later, sophomore netminder had not allowed a goal—which marks a streak of 135 consecutive minutes without a goal—the most since the 2012-13 season.”

Head coach Ted Donato achieved an important milestone earlier this season: “Ted Donato became winningest coach in program history with his 325th career win on Dec.3 against Brown.” He is now among just seven active coaches nationwide with more than that number of victories.

Heikki Ruohonen returned recently after competing internationally: “Heikki Ruohonen returns after competing in IIHF World Junior Championships with Finnish National Team…Ruohonen earned Player Of Game honors after scoring game-tying goal against United States in quarterfinals…An alternate captain…he posted three goals and six assists in seven games…”

Matthew Morden set new personal records during January’s three-game sweep at Bright-Landry Arena—including becoming first Crimson defenseman since Henry Thrun (date unspecified) to score shorthanded—and adding five points over those contests.

Shorthanded play was highlighted when Mick Thompson and Richard Gallant each scored such goals versus Dartmouth; it marked just fourth time since1947 that Harvard recorded two shorthanded tallies in single contest.

Earlier this season versus Michigan—the nation’s top-ranked team—Harvard erased a three-goal deficit late in regulation before forcing overtime; it was their first comeback from such margin since2022-23 campaign.

The forward line comprised Philip Tresca , Casey Severo ,and Mick Thompson has produced consistently since forming late last year ,combining for95points across38games including61thisseason alone .

Mick Thompson also registered multiple three-point performances recently ,joining an elite group among recent Crimson skaters .

First-year players have contributed notably as well :”Through28games ,Harvard first-years have combined for51points .Drake Murray ,Heikki Ruohonen ,Aidan Lane, and Richard Gallant lead class with combined44points .”
