The Harvard men’s squash team concluded its regular season with a narrow 5-4 loss to Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey. The No. 2 ranked Crimson now hold a 7-3 overall record and are 4-2 in Ivy League play, while the No. 8 Tigers improve to 6-5 overall and also stand at 4-2 in the conference.
Princeton started strong by securing two wins in the first set of matches, taking victories at positions eight and three. Maddox Moxham earned Harvard’s first point with a four-game win at position five, leaving the score at 2-1 after the opening round.
Harvard leveled the match during the second wave of contests. Ishant Shah swept his opponent at position nine, and Christian Capella added another win for Harvard at position four. Princeton countered with a victory at position two, tying the teams at three points each before the final group of matches.
In the decisive round, Princeton clinched wins at positions one and seven to reach five points and secure the team victory. Alexander Broadbridge provided Harvard’s last point with a straight-set win at position six.
The final individual results were as follows:

2 – Avi Agarwal (Princeton) defeated David Costales, 3-0 (11-7, 13-11, 11-1)
3 – Federico Sosa (Princeton) defeated Omar Azzam, 3-0 (12-10, 11-8, 13-11)
4 – Christian Capella defeated Aly Ibrahim (Princeton), 3-1 (11-6, 11-2, 9-11, 11-4)
5 – Maddox Moxham defeated Hassan Khalil (Princeton), 3-1 (12-10, 11-6, 9-11, 13-11)
6 – Alexander Broadbridge defeated David Beeson (Princeton), 3–0 (11–8, 11–9 and 11–4)
7 – Yuvraj Wadhwani (Princeton) defeated Jacob Lin, 3–0 (11–3 and 13–7 and 13–2)
8 – Justin Cheng (Princeton) defeated Segev Rome: 3–1
9 – Ishant Shah defeated Yanai Ramot (Princeton): 3–0
Both teams will move on to compete in postseason play next weekend when they participate in the inaugural Ivy League Squash Tournament. Harvard is scheduled to face Yale in the semifinals as it returns home to Cambridge for preparations.
