Harvard University’s men’s swimming and diving team is in fifth place after the first day of the Ivy League Championships, which are being held at DeNunzio Pool in Princeton, New Jersey. The Crimson accumulated 108 points across two events, trailing Yale and Princeton, both tied at 120 points, as well as Columbia (106) and Cornell (104). Teams following Harvard in the standings include Penn and Brown with 94 points each, and Dartmouth with 90.
The opening event for Harvard was the 200 medley relay. The team of Marre Gattnar, Joshua Chen, Sonny Wang, and Maro Miknic posted a season-best time of 1:25.47 to secure fourth place.
In a non-scoring diving relay exhibition event, Harvard finished third behind Brown and Dartmouth with a total of 308.70 points.
Later in the evening session, Harvard competed in the 800 free relay. Swimmers Will Browne, David Greeley, Marre Gattnar, and William Mulgrew completed the race in 6:22.39 for sixth place—an improvement over their previous season-best time of 6:27.61.
Looking ahead, Harvard will continue its participation on Thursday with preliminary heats starting at 11 a.m. Eastern Time and finals scheduled for 6 p.m., both available to watch live on ESPN+.
