Harvard Men’s Basketball sophomore guard Robert Hinton was named to the First Team NABC All-District for the North Atlantic District, according to a March 17 announcement by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Hinton’s recognition comes after a standout season in which he was also a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 82.9 percent from the free throw line. In Ivy League play, his averages increased to 18.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game with a shooting percentage of 52.6 percent.
During the season, Hinton led the Ivy League in field goals made (187), ranked second in total points (486), fifth in points per game (16.8), fifth in free throw percentage (82.9), fifth in minutes per game (33.5), sixth in free throws made (87), and sixth in steals per game (1.4). In conference-only games, he was first in field goals made (101), second in total points (257), third in points per game (18.4), and fifth in minutes played per game (35.2). Over the course of the year, Hinton scored double figures in 24 games, had nine games with at least 20 points, and surpassed the 30-point mark twice.
The NABC All-District honors are determined by votes from coaches who are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches across NCAA Division I programs.
As a team, Harvard finished with a record of 17-12 overall and went 10-4 within Ivy League play, securing second place—their best finish since the 2019-20 season—and qualifying for their first Ivy League Tournament appearance since that same year due to previous cancellations related to COVID-19 concerns. The Crimson also led their conference this season in scoring defense by allowing just 66.7 points per game.
Looking ahead, Hinton’s achievements highlight both his individual performance and Harvard’s strong showing during this past basketball season.
