Harvard sailing achieved first place at the Wood Trophy and secured a top-five finish at the Jen Harris Team Race, according to a March 11 announcement.
The results highlight Harvard’s continued strong performance in collegiate sailing competitions this spring. The team hosted the Wood Trophy for the first time since 2024, starting with an undefeated record in the opening round and maintaining momentum throughout the event.
At the Wood Trophy regatta in Rhode Island, Harvard completed the first round with a perfect 6-0 record. The team then posted a 5-1 mark in the second round before going undefeated again in both the third and fourth rounds to clinch first place. Skippers Justin Callahan, Mitchell Callahan, Robby Meek, and Harrison Strom led the effort alongside crew members Rosella Irfan, Jacob Posner, and Christian Chen.
Meanwhile, at the Jen Harris Team Race held in Annapolis, Maryland, Harvard finished fourth overall after competing through challenging conditions. The Crimson ended with a 6-3 record, outperforming teams such as Georgetown, Tufts, Old Dominion (the tournament host), Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and Rollins College. Skippers Kate Danielson, Sophia Montgomery, and Zoey Ziskind sailed with crew JJ Drummond, Hanah Youn, Peyton Hadfield, and Amelie Zucker to secure Harvard’s sixth top-five finish of the spring season.
Looking ahead, Harvard is scheduled to compete in two more regattas on Saturday and Sunday: the Charleston Women’s Team Race and the Graham Hall Trophy Team Race.
