Harvard swimmer Alexandra Bastone places 27th in 1650 free at NCAA Championships

Harvard Women’s Swimming and Diving began its participation at the NCAA Championships on March 18 in Atlanta, Georgia, with Alexandra Bastone competing in the 1650 freestyle event.

Bastone finished third in her heat and placed 27th overall out of a field of 40 athletes, recording a time of 16:17.85. The junior swimmer is scheduled to compete again on Friday in the 500 freestyle event.

The competition will continue on Thursday, March 19, when Sydney Lu makes her NCAA debut in the 100 butterfly. Nina Janmyr will also participate, representing Harvard in the one-meter diving event. Swimming preliminaries are set for 10 a.m. Eastern Time (7 a.m. Pacific Time), with diving events following at 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time (9:15 a.m. Pacific Time). Finals are scheduled for 6 p.m. Eastern Time (3 p.m. Pacific Time).

All events from the championships will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
