Harvard University’s track and field teams reported a series of notable performances on April 4 during competitions at the Texas Relays, Pepsi Florida Relays, and UConn Dog Fight Invite.
The weekend’s events saw Harvard athletes placing in top positions across several disciplines. These results highlight the team’s depth and competitiveness as they prepare for upcoming meets.
At the Texas Relays in Austin, senior Michaela Denson secured third place in the women’s discus with a throw of 48.54 meters. Sophomore Ella McRitchie also took third in the women’s pole vault, clearing 4.20 meters—a mark that now ranks her second all-time in school history for this event. The men’s 4×100 meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 39.42 seconds, which is third fastest in program history and currently stands nineteenth nationally.
Junior Tito Alofe placed eighth in his first outdoor high jump appearance since winning the national indoor title earlier this year, clearing a height of 2.06 meters. In other highlights from Austin, Amari Turner placed eleventh in the invitational section of the men’s 200 meters with a time tied for seventh all-time at Harvard.
At the Pepsi Florida Relays, sophomore Abigail Dennis finished sixteenth in the women’s 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.82 seconds while junior Mickaila Haisley posted an eleventh-fastest time ever by a Harvard athlete (11.54) to finish eighteenth overall in the women’s 100 meters—the fastest by any Crimson competitor since 2022.
Meanwhile at UConn’s Dog Fight Invite, senior Justin Levy claimed second place in the men’s 400 meters with a time ranking tenth all-time at Harvard (47.37). Several first-year competitors gained experience across sprints and distance events as well.
Looking ahead, Harvard will participate next weekend at three more meets: Georgia Spec Towns Invite, Friar Invitational, and UMass Multi-Meet from April 10 to April 11.
