Harvard track and field athletes recorded a series of notable performances at the Spec Towns Invite in Athens, Georgia, and the Friar Invitational, according to an April 10 announcement from the university.

The results highlight Harvard’s continued progress in both middle-distance and field events as the outdoor season advances. The weekend featured personal bests, high placements, and several top-10 finishes across multiple disciplines.

At the Friar Invitational, junior Samira Kennedy finished third in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:15.21. In the men’s 800 meters, first-year Arashi Hunter led three Harvard competitors by taking fourth place in 1:52.45. Andrew Thornton-Sherman placed sixth (1:53.28), while Grant Schroder finished seventh (1:53.43). Senior Abigail Weber secured second place in the women’s 3000 meters with a time of 10:13.65, while first-year Caitlyn Chang was fourteenth (10:51.10). In men’s steeplechase action, sophomore William Brunner debuted outdoors with an eighth-place finish (9:16.51), followed by junior Ethan Aidam in fifteenth (9:39.36). The invite section of the women’s 800 meters saw first-year Dylan McElhinney take third (2:10.30) and Callie Wallace tenth (2:12.08). Senior Lily O’Donoghue-McDonald ran to fifteenth place in the mile at 4:57.27; Ella Cohen was twenty-first at 5:12.48.

In Athens at the Spec Towns Invite, junior Marta Amani placed fifth in women’s long jump with a leap of 6.12 meters (20’1″). Sophomore Saige Forbes took sixteenth place with a jump of 5.50 meters (18′.5″). Sophomore Ella Cooper posted a career-best time of 23.39 seconds for seventh place in the women’s outdoor 200 meters—a mark that now ranks her fourth all-time for Harvard and leads this year’s Ivy League rankings outdoors for that event category; Abigail Dennis finished twenty-eighth (24.34) while Kaelin Creagh was forty-fourth (25.09). Dennis also returned to compete in the women’s 400-meter hurdles where she placed tenth overall at one minute flat.

Harvard is scheduled to conclude its weekend competition tomorrow with additional events at both meets.
