Harvard track and field will continue its outdoor season at two events, the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina from March 26 to March 28, and the D’Amour Invitational in Lowell, Massachusetts on March 27.

The upcoming competitions follow a strong start to Harvard’s outdoor campaign. The team began its season at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational in Texas, where several athletes achieved top-10 finishes and set new records for the program.

Junior Timi Esan broke the school record in the men’s 100 meters with a time of 10.26 seconds. First-year Yannick Kraus won the men’s javelin with a throw of 54.38 meters after finishing second in pole vault by clearing 4.75 meters, and also placed eighth in discus throw. Junior Lilly Hodge won the women’s pole vault by clearing an outdoor career-best of 4.12 meters, making her second all-time in program history for that event.

Other notable performances included first-year Jillene Wetteland finishing second in her collegiate debut for high jump, senior Daire Mahon and first-year Demetris Tzoannos tying for second place in men’s high jump, junior Alice Mihas placing third in women’s hammer throw, and multiple top-five finishes from Nadjela Wepiwe, Tyler Glover, and Michaela Denson in women’s discus throw—placing them among Harvard’s all-time bests.

Sophomore Abigail Dennis won the women’s 100 hurdles with a time of 13:63 seconds while junior Simon Weiser took second place in men’s hurdles. In sprints, Mickaila Haisley (second), Saige Forbes (third), and Ella Cooper (fourth) finished consecutively behind each other in women’s 100m; Cooper also won the women’s 200m event.

Relay teams saw success as well: The women’s squad of Mfoniso Andrew, Cooper, Haisley, and Forbes posted a winning time that ranks second all-time for Harvard women’s relays; while Esan joined Jonas Clarke, Turner, and LeRoy Horton on a men’s relay win ranking fourth all-time for Harvard men.

Looking ahead to April competitions—including meets at Texas Relays and UConn Dog Fight Invite—the Crimson aim to build on their early season momentum.
