Harvard track and field will participate in three separate meets from April 2 to April 4, according to an announcement on April 1. The team is set to travel across the United States, with select athletes competing at events in Texas, Florida, and Connecticut.

The Crimson will begin their weekend at the Austin Relays held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas from Thursday through Saturday. On Friday and Saturday, Harvard athletes are scheduled to compete at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida. The team’s final event of the weekend will be the UConn Dog Fight Invite on Saturday.

The upcoming competitions follow a series of strong performances by Harvard athletes at last week’s Raleigh Relays. First-year Tam Gavenas finished tenth in his collegiate debut for the 5000 meters with a time of 13:41.43—ranking fourth all-time in school history and first among Ivy League competitors this season. Junior Charlie Ortmans placed fifth in the men’s 10,000 meters with a time of 28:29.37; his performance leads the Ivy League and stands fifth nationally for this season.

Sophomore Ella Cooper currently leads Ivy League competitors in the women’s 200 meters with a mark of 23.45 that ranks twenty-fourth regionally for outdoor events so far this year. Saige Forbes began her sophomore campaign leading Ivy League times for women’s 100 meters after clocking an 11.58 at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational earlier this season.

Junior Timi Esan set a new school record—and now holds tenth place regionally—in men’s 100 meters with his time of 10.26 seconds as he defends his status as reigning Ivy League champion for that event.

Looking ahead, Harvard plans to compete again next weekend from April 10-11 at three additional meets: Georgia Spec Towns Invite, Friar Invitational, and UMass Multi-Meet.
