The Harvard women’s lightweight rowing team will compete in the IRA National Championship Regatta on May 30-31 at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California. The team recently participated in the Eastern Sprints earlier this month, earning two silver medals and two bronze medals.
Harvard-Radcliffe has a history of success at the IRA National Championship, with five national championships to its name. The last varsity gold medal was won in 2014. In each of the past two years, Harvard has finished on the podium in the varsity race with second and third place finishes, respectively. Last year, Caitlyn Kukulowicz and Julia Maciejak secured a gold medal in the doubles boat event.
At this month’s Eastern Sprints, Harvard’s varsity eight placed second in the grand final while their four took third place and their doubles crew finished second. The upcoming regatta will see races scheduled for Saturday: Heat 2 of 2xA at 11:08 AM, V4+ at 11:24 AM, and V8 at 11:40 AM (all times Eastern). Sunday race times will be announced following Saturday’s events through GoCrimson.com recaps and social media updates.
The announced boat lineups for Harvard include Lillian Ranalli as coxswain for V8+, Elle Krywosa as stroke seat along with Rikke Nielsen, Kristine Schwartz, Charlotte Paley, Jamie Reidy, Sisira Holbrook, Mary Mangan, and Hannah Marks filling out the rest of that crew. For V4+, Ella Sheth serves as coxswain with Michaela D’Arcy as stroke seat alongside Caitlyn Kukulowicz, Amelia Cooper, and Britt Wotovich. In 2xA competition are Kiera Mariko Dwan (stroke) and Stella Sweitzer (bow).
