Harvard University women’s rugby will host the Ivy 7s tournament at Mignone Field on April 11, with games beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding with the first-place match at 4:10 p.m., according to an announcement on Apr. 8.
The event is significant as it brings together all four varsity Ivy League women’s rugby programs—Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown, and Princeton—with each school fielding both A and B sides. The competition offers teams a chance to prepare for upcoming national tournaments while showcasing top collegiate talent in the sport.
During pool play, Harvard’s A side will face Brown A at 9:25 a.m., Princeton A at 11:40 a.m., and Dartmouth A at 1:55 p.m. The B side will compete against Princeton B, Brown B, and Dartmouth B throughout the day. The third-place match is scheduled for 3:45 p.m., followed by the championship game at 4:10 p.m.
The Crimson enters the tournament after winning the plate final in their opening spring event at Tropical 7s, where both elite and open teams posted strong records. Senior Lennox London recently became the first player in program history to score her hundredth career try during this event. Harvard also boasts two nominees—senior Tiahna Padilla and first-year Gemma Ogoke—for this year’s MA Sorensen Award for top collegiate woman rugby player in the United States.
Several current student-athletes and alumnae represented Harvard during recent USA Women’s Eagles camps, highlighting ongoing connections between collegiate competition and national team development. In addition to recent successes in sevens competitions—including winning last year’s CRAA National Championship—the Crimson have secured four NCAA Division I titles in fifteens since 2019.
Looking ahead, Harvard is set to compete next at the CRAA Sevens National Championships from April 25-26 in Indianapolis.
