Harvard University women’s rugby team won the plate final at the Tropical 7s tournament in Tampa, Florida, on Apr. 4, with senior Lennox London reaching her 100th career try.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for both London and the program, as she became the first student-athlete in Harvard women’s rugby history to reach this number of tries. The elite team finished their weekend with a record of four wins and two losses after securing victories in their last two games.

London’s historic moment came during a decisive 34-0 win over Penn State in the plate semifinals, where she scored five tries. Over the course of the tournament, she totaled six tries for Harvard’s elite side. Teammate Cameron Fields also contributed six tries across both days of play. In addition to London and Fields’ performances, Madelyn Hubbell, Sana’a Lunon, and Josephine Mignone each scored three tries for the elite team.

The Crimson faced a tough quarterfinal loss to Brown but rebounded by defeating Penn State and then overcoming Canadian Misfits in the plate final to secure fifth place overall. The open side also had a strong showing with three consecutive wins on Saturday against Lander University (31-7), Clemson (33-5), and UNC Wilmington (57-0), ending their weekend with an identical record as the elite squad.

Morgan Gibson led try scoring for Harvard’s open team with seven over two days while Evie Eyers added six. Sabine Fuchs contributed four tries; Courtney Taylor scored three; Ava Giguere posted two; Nellie Fitzpatrick, Mikayla Lord, and Neasa McLaughlin each added one.

Looking ahead, Harvard will host Ivy 7s on Saturday, Apr. 11 at Mignone Field in Cambridge.
