Harvard women’s basketball lost to Wisconsin, 64-61, in an overtime game during the quarterfinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT), according to a March 27 announcement.

The result ends Harvard’s season with a record of 20 wins and 12 losses. The close contest highlighted the team’s strong performance throughout the tournament but ultimately saw them eliminated after a late comeback by Wisconsin.

Abigail Wright led Harvard with 18 points on eight-of-16 shooting, collecting 11 rebounds and three assists in what was described as her breakout junior season. Karlee White also scored in double figures with 16 points, along with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Olivia Jones, Saniyah Glenn-Bello, and Katie Krupa each contributed nine points. Jones added seven rebounds and three steals.

The game began with both teams struggling offensively before Harvard surged ahead on a second-quarter run that gave them a nine-point lead. However, Wisconsin responded quickly to tie the score at halftime. The second half featured several lead changes until Harvard went on another run to end the third quarter up by one point.

In the fourth quarter, consecutive three-pointers from White and Glenn-Bello helped extend Harvard’s lead to eight points late in regulation. But Wisconsin mounted a comeback in the final minute of play, tying the game with a seven-point run that forced overtime. In extra time, both teams traded leads before Wisconsin secured victory with key baskets in the closing moments.

Wright finished her season by recording her fifth career double-double while White notched her twenty-third double-figure scoring effort this year.
