The Harvard women’s golf team will open its spring season at the 2026 Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, which takes place March 16-17 at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, according to a March 12 announcement. The Crimson will compete against a strong field that includes seven teams ranked in the Scoreboard by Clippd Top 50.
This tournament marks Harvard’s first appearance at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and only its second competition ever in Texas. The last time the team played in Texas was during the 2007-08 NCAA Central Regional, also held at the University of Texas Golf Club.
Harvard posted three top-five finishes during the fall season, including third-place results at both the Quinnipiac Classic and Lady Blue Hen Invitational. Vanessa Zhang led the team with individual championships at both tournaments and was named Ivy League Golfer of the Month for October after her performances. Zhang began her run with a fourth-place finish at the Princeton Invitational, highlighted by a bogey-free final round featuring three birdies. At the Quinnipiac Classic, she won by six strokes with a one-under-par score over two rounds.
Zhang is now one of only five golfers in program history to earn medalist honors in back-to-back tournaments and has three career tournament victories. She led Harvard in scoring average (71.9), birdies (34), and pars (135) during the fall season. Sophomore Lucy Yuan also contributed with three top-25 finishes and two top-10 placements, while senior captain Iris Wang recorded a 76.7 scoring average and two top-30 finishes. Junior Bonnie Zhai added one top-20 finish and carded 27 birdies during her fall campaign.
Looking ahead, Harvard women’s golf is scheduled to return to action on April 5 for its second consecutive appearance at the University of Maryland’s Terps Invitational.
