Harvard women’s tennis lost to Baylor 4-0 at the Murr Center in Cambridge. The Crimson, now holding a 4-5 record for the season, came close to taking the doubles point but ultimately fell short.

Stephanie Yakoff and Kavya Karra secured an early win for Harvard in doubles, defeating Zuzanna Kubacha and Neda Rahimkhani from Baylor 6-2. However, Kate Kim and Claire Shao were unable to hold onto their comeback attempt on court two, losing 7-5. In the third doubles match, Natasha Rajaram and Natalie Block fell to Alian Zack and Luna Ivkovic of Baylor 6-3.

In singles play, Baylor won four of six first sets. Claire Shao and Andra Braicu provided some hope for Harvard by winning their respective first sets on courts three and six. Despite these efforts, Baylor clinched victories on courts two, four, and five to secure the overall win.

The final scores included No. 62 Na Dong of Baylor defeating Kavya Karra 6-1, 6-1; No. 98 Mu-Jie Tzeng beating Anna-Raphaëlle Serghi 6-1, 6-4; and Alian Zack overcoming Kate Kim with a score of 6-1, 6-2.

Several matches did not finish as Baylor reached the required points for victory before all singles matches concluded.

Harvard will travel next weekend to Memphis for matches beginning against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
