Harvard University’s women’s tennis team is set to face UMass-Amherst this Saturday, March 7 at 11:30 a.m. ET in its final home non-conference match before a nearly two-week break. The match against the Minutewomen will mark Harvard’s last such contest on home courts for the season.

In their most recent outing, Harvard secured a 6-1 victory over Quinnipiac. The Crimson established an early advantage by winning doubles matches with scores of 6-2 and 6-0 on courts one and three, respectively. In singles play, Harvard took five out of six matches, including four straight-set wins. Kate Kim earned her seventh win of the year by defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-0.

Junior Stephanie Yakoff achieved her seventeenth win of the season against Quinnipiac and now holds a spring record of 7-1. She is currently ranked No. 68 nationally in singles competition. In doubles play, Yakoff teams with Kavya Karra; together they are ranked No. 41 in the country and remain undefeated in dual matches at 8-0 this season, with an overall record of 14-3 for the year.

Kavya Karra has also contributed strongly as an individual player with a singles record of 15-5, primarily competing at the No. 2 spot. Last weekend she won her match with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-2.

Sophomores Anna-Raphaëlle Serghi and Natasha Rajaram have been regular contributors to Harvard’s lineup throughout the season. Both players notched victories last weekend; Serghi prevailed on court four (7-6 [6], 6-2), while Rajaram closed out play with a win on court six.

The Crimson currently ranks No. 75 in the latest ITA Division I Women’s Team Rankings among all teams nationwide.

Historically, Harvard has maintained a perfect record against UMass-Amherst, winning all eleven previous encounters between the programs—including a decisive 5-0 result last season during their non-conference finale.

Following Saturday’s match, Harvard will resume action on Thursday, March 19 against Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Florida.
