Boston University softball senior Kasey Ricard received Pitcher of the Week honors from both Softball on Sports Illustrated and D1Softball, according to announcements made by the two media outlets on March 17. Ricard’s recognition follows a week in which she delivered a flawless 4-0 record as a pitcher.

The awards highlight Ricard’s strong performance, where she recorded one save, maintained a 0.00 earned run average, and struck out 25 batters over 24 innings. Her achievements also led her to tie the Patriot League record with her 16th career Pitcher of the Week award earlier in the week.

D1Softball named Ricard its top mid-major Pitcher of the Week, noting that she had previously been selected as a two-time national Pitcher of the Week and Second Team All-American in 2024. Softball on Sports Illustrated began issuing its national weekly awards in February.

Ricard’s week included nine strikeouts with only one walk and five hits allowed during a shutout win against Quinnipiac. She also pitched three scoreless innings for her seventh career save against UMass Lowell and achieved back-to-back one-hit shutouts versus UMass Lowell and Brown.

Boston University is scheduled to host Stonehill for a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 18, with the first game set to begin at 2 p.m.
