Kate Gilliam was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week after leading Harvard to an upset victory over No. 12 Duke, according to a March 23 announcement from the Ivy League.
Gilliam scored a career-high five goals in last week’s game against Duke, including four of Harvard’s first five goals. She also contributed an assist, finishing with six points. This is her first conference weekly award and also marks the first such honor for any Crimson player this season.
The match against Duke was described as back-and-forth, with Gilliam helping spark an early lead for Harvard. The team secured its biggest win of the season through decisive plays in the final moments.
Harvard is scheduled to return to action tomorrow, facing Holy Cross at Jordan Field.
