Freshman Makenzie McDevitt was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for her performance against Lafayette, according to a March 16 announcement from the league.
The recognition highlights McDevitt’s impact as a first-year player on the Boston Terrier women’s lacrosse team. Her contribution in the recent game played a key role in her team’s success and earned her this weekly honor for the first time.
McDevitt scored four goals in the win over Lafayette, all coming in the first half and from open play. She was perfect in her shooting, converting all four attempts and scoring just before halftime with her fourth goal. The Wrentham, Massachusetts native now has 15 points this season, including 12 goals and three assists across eight games.
This is McDevitt’s first weekly award from the Patriot League. The Terriers are scheduled to face Cornell next on Tuesday, March 17 at noon at Nickerson Field. The match will be broadcast live on NESN+ and ESPN+.
The team’s upcoming game provides another opportunity for McDevitt to build on her strong start to the season.
