The Northeastern University baseball team will travel to Hempstead, New York, for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series against Hofstra beginning Friday, March 27. The games are scheduled at University Field and will be streamed on FloCollege.

This matchup is significant as both teams look to improve their conference records. Northeastern enters the weekend with a 13-10 overall record and stands at 7-2 in CAA play, while Hofstra holds a 6-13 record and is 2-4 in the conference.

Hofstra has faced challenges early in the season, starting with six consecutive losses including sweeps by Mississippi State and Liberty. Weather conditions led to five canceled games before the Pride secured their first win of the year during a CAA series at Charleston. Michael Brown leads Hofstra’s lineup with a .333 batting average, while Tyler Cox adds eight doubles and eleven runs batted in. Brayden Gregg has been effective out of the bullpen with an earned run average of 0.98. The Pride remain undefeated at home this season.

Northeastern comes off a split midweek schedule: losing narrowly to Boston College but rebounding with a shutout victory over UMass Lowell. Chris Walsh delivered an RBI single late against Boston College as part of a near comeback effort that fell short by one run. Against UMass Lowell, five Huskies pitchers combined for four scoreless innings leading to their third shutout win this year—tying them for thirteenth nationally and placing them first within the CAA.

The Huskies have continued last season’s strong pitching performances into this year by employing multiple pitchers per game—a strategy that resulted in seventeen shutouts last season, setting both program and NCAA records.
