The Northeastern University baseball team will return home to Friedman Diamond for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) series against Hofstra, with games scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, according to an April 23 announcement. Saturday’s contest will also serve as Senior Day and Alumni Day. All three games are set to stream on FloCollege, while Friday’s game can also be viewed on NESN+.
This series holds significance as the Huskies aim to recover from their only CAA series loss of the season, which occurred last month against Hofstra in Hempstead. The outcome of these games could impact Northeastern’s position in the conference standings as they approach the final stretch of regular season play.
Northeastern has distinguished itself this spring with aggressive baserunning, currently ranking second nationally with 154 stolen bases—just behind Virginia Military Institute’s 157. Harrison Feinberg leads individually with 31 steals this season and is fourth in the country. The team recently recorded notable performances such as an 11-steal game at Brown and a combined total of 14 steals during their previous weekend series in Greensboro.
Hofstra arrives in Boston following a dramatic series win at UNC Wilmington (UNCW), highlighted by pitcher Carlos Martinez striking out a career-high 15 batters in Friday’s opener and CJ Griggs hitting a go-ahead two-run homer during Sunday’s comeback victory. This marks one of Hofstra’s most impressive results this year despite earlier losses to Stony Brook and Towson after defeating Northeastern last month.
In their most recent outing, Northeastern swept North Carolina A&T across three games at World War Memorial Stadium. Standout performances included Robbie O’Connor pitching five scoreless innings on Friday and AJ Aschettino driving in five runs that same day. Over the weekend sweep, Tyler Harmony was named CAA Rookie of the Week after hitting his first two career home runs and recording multi-hit days throughout the series.
