Northeastern defeated Monmouth 13-1 in a baseball game on April 4, securing the series at Friedman Diamond in Brookline, Massachusetts. Ryan Griffin set a new career high with nine strikeouts over six innings and earned the win for Northeastern, while Andrew Rogovic closed out the game with two perfect innings and five strikeouts.

The Huskies took control early by sending nine batters to the plate and scoring five runs in the first inning. AJ Aschettino hit a double to clear the bases for three runs, Cooper Tarantino contributed an RBI groundout, and Charlie Criscola added a two-run single down the left field line.

Tarantino continued his strong performance with an RBI single in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh for his second home run of the season. The team extended its lead with a six-run eighth inning that included singles from Criscola and Chris Walsh, a bunt single by Carmelo Musacchia to load the bases, and Gerety’s double that brought in three more runs. Harrison Feinberg singled before Matt Brinker capped off scoring with a three-run home run—his fourth of the season.

Gerety finished with one hit, three RBIs, and extended his on-base streak to 28 games. Brinker went three-for-four at bat with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Aschettino had two RBIs while Criscola added another two; Feinberg contributed two hits along with three runs scored and stole one base.

With this victory Northeastern moves just one game behind Monmouth in Colonial Athletic Association North standings as five CAA weekends remain—including another matchup against Monmouth scheduled for May. The Huskies are set to play Harvard next Tuesday in the Baseball Beanpot before hosting Merrimack and Maine at Friedman Diamond starting Friday.
