The Northeastern University Huskies baseball team was defeated by the Boston Red Sox, 18-3, in their annual early-season scrimmage held at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida, on Friday afternoon.
Northeastern took an early lead in the first inning. Harrison Feinberg led off with a single and stole second base. Ryan Gerety then singled through the right side, allowing Feinberg to score and put the Huskies ahead 1-0.
In the second inning, Anthony Ruggiero contributed another run for Northeastern after singling, stealing both second and third base, and scoring on a throwing error by Red Sox catcher Ronald Rosario. This gave the Huskies a 2-1 advantage.
