The Northeastern Huskies secured a 12-11 victory over the Hofstra Pride on Mar. 28, evening their series after a dramatic comeback at University Field. The Huskies scored four runs in the seventh inning and overcame a five-run sixth by Hofstra to claim the win.

This close contest highlights both teams’ offensive efforts and resilience, with Northeastern improving to a record of 14-11 overall and 8-3 in Colonial Athletic Association play.

Carter Bentley led the Huskies with two doubles, while Harrison Feinberg reached base four times. Cooper Maher earned the win for Northeastern by pitching three and one-third scoreless innings in relief after entering during a difficult sixth inning. The Huskies collected nine hits, drew eleven walks, and were hit by five pitches throughout the game.

Northeastern took an early lead as Carmelo Musacchia walked and Ryan Gerety was hit by a pitch before Feinberg doubled them home. After several lead changes through the middle innings, Hofstra pulled ahead with five runs in the sixth inning. However, Northeastern responded quickly: Bentley doubled and later scored on an RBI groundout; then Brinker delivered a two-run double followed by Tarantino’s RBI single to tie it at eleven apiece.

The go-ahead run came in the eighth when Feinberg drew an RBI walk with bases loaded after two outs had been recorded without any hits that inning. Maher then retired all batters he faced except for one walk in closing out the final innings.

Bentley finished three-for-four at bat with two doubles; Feinberg went two-for-four with three RBIs, while Criscola contributed a key two-run single. The team’s patience at bat was evident as they drew eleven walks—its highest total this season for a nine-inning game—and reached base five times via hit-by-pitch.

The series will conclude on Sunday, March 29th at noon at University Field.
