Northeastern University’s varsity eight rowing team was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Boat of the Week, according to an April 1 announcement from the conference office. This is the first weekly award Northeastern has received from the CAA this season.
The recognition follows strong performances by Northeastern at the Doc Hosea Invitational, where they recorded a time of 6:50.00 against No. 9 Virginia and No. 12 Syracuse, and a time of 6:39.10 against No. 3 Yale as they opened their spring season.
The crew members for Northeastern’s varsity eight included Isabella Hsia as coxswain, Ava Sjogren at stroke, Heather Taylor in seat seven, Grace Theobald in seat six, Sophia Wolfenberg in seat five, Hannah Boone in seat four, Julia Halbreich in seat three, Esther Littlefield in seat two and Stina Dewes at bow.
Northeastern is scheduled to compete again on Saturday, April 4 on the Charles River against Boston University.
