The Northeastern University women’s basketball team is set to play two away games in North Carolina as it concludes its regular season schedule. The Huskies, holding a 7-16 overall record and 3-10 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play, will face North Carolina A&T on Friday, February 20 at the Corbett Sports Center in Greensboro. They will then travel to Elon for a matchup against the Phoenix on Sunday, February 22 at the Schar Center. Both games are available for streaming on FloCollege.
In their most recent game, Northeastern ended Stony Brook’s four-game winning streak with a 73-60 win at Cabot Center. Sophomore guard Camryn Collins scored a career-high 21 points, making seven of nine field goals and all five free throws. She also recorded three assists and one steal. Junior forward Justice Tramble added 15 points and seven rebounds, while junior guard Yirsy Quéliz contributed 12 points and four assists. This victory followed a loss to College of Charleston where Northeastern shot only 30% from the field; however, against Stony Brook, the team improved significantly with a season-high shooting percentage of 58.5%.
North Carolina A&T enters the matchup as the reigning CAA regular-season champions under head coach Tarrell Robinson, who is in his fourteenth year and was named CAA Coach of the Year for leading his team to a 15-3 conference record last season and securing their first CAA title. The Aggies feature redshirt senior center Chaniya Clark (12.1 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game), who was named to the All-CAA Preseason First Team; junior forward Paris Locke (10.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg), an All-CAA Preseason Second Team selection; and graduate guard D’Mya Tucker (11.2 ppg). In their previous meeting this season on January 9 at Cabot Center, N.C. A&T defeated Northeastern in overtime by one point (84-83), during which Taylor Holohan set her career high with 22 points.
Elon has dealt with injuries throughout its campaign but remains competitive under fifteenth-year head coach Charlotte Smith. Freshman guard Ashanti Fox has twice been named CAA Rookie of the Week and leads Elon with an average of 12 points per game in conference action along with a team-best three-point shooting percentage of 36.1%. Other key contributors include graduate forward Quinzia Fulmore, sophomore transfer LaNae’ Corbett, and senior guard Laila Anderson. Elon’s defense has been strong from beyond the arc, limiting opponents to just over 24% shooting from three-point range during non-conference play—a mark that ranked among the top twenty nationally earlier this season. In their last meeting during Northeastern’s senior day in 2025, Northeastern secured a close win over Elon with a score of 49-43.
