The Northeastern University women’s rowing team will travel to Fairlee, Vermont this weekend for the Lake Morey Regatta, according to an April 17 announcement.

The event is a key competition for the Huskies as they continue their spring season. The regatta offers another opportunity for the team to build on recent successes and prepare for upcoming events.

In their last outing, Northeastern competed at Overpeck Park against Columbia and Rhode Island. The second varsity eight crew, led by stroke Evie Gaylord, finished first with a time of 7:48.65 against both opponents. Additionally, the second varsity four boat, stroked by Mia Bonfiglio, secured first place over Columbia with a time of 8:31.14.

Northeastern has experience racing at Lake Morey. Last season at this venue, the Huskies swept all NCAA events during the regatta—winning all four races against Rhode Island in one session and taking four out of five races against Cornell in another session.

The Northeastern rowing community is also invited to attend the team’s annual spring brunch reception and senior celebration on Sunday, April 26 from noon until 2 p.m., where supporters can register online.

Races are scheduled throughout Saturday morning beginning with varsity eight at 8:00 a.m., followed by second varsity eight (8:15 a.m.), varsity four (8:30 a.m.), second varsity four (8:45 a.m.), third varsity eight (9:00 a.m.), and fourth varsity eight (9:15 a.m.).

Looking ahead, these competitions serve as preparation for later championship events in the collegiate rowing calendar.
