The Northeastern women’s basketball team will host Drexel at the Cabot Center on Sunday, February 1, with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m. The game coincides with National Girls and Women in Sports Day and will be broadcast on NESN and streamed on FloCollege.

In their most recent game, Northeastern fell to Monmouth 65-56 at OceanFirst Bank Center. Sophomore guard Camryn Collins led the Huskies with 14 points, while freshman Kailee Beaudion-Foliaki added 10 points, making all six of her free throw attempts. Justice Tramble also contributed 10 points. Despite trailing by 16 at halftime, Northeastern outscored Monmouth in the second half but was unable to close the gap completely.

Northeastern faces a challenging opponent in Drexel, who has won the last three meetings between the teams. Drexel is coached by Amy Mallon, now in her sixth season, and has secured two CAA tournament championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances under her leadership. Graduate guard Amaris Baker leads the conference in scoring and is a two-time First Team All-CAA selection. Junior forward Deja Evans recently earned CAA Player of the Week honors after strong performances against Stony Brook and Towson. Freshman guard Molly Rullo set a career-high with 16 points against Towson. Drexel enters Sunday’s matchup following a road win over Monmouth.

The Huskies have demonstrated strong free throw shooting in recent games. Against Monmouth, they converted over 92% from the line in the second half. In their previous victory over Hofstra, Northeastern made 21-of-24 free throws overall and hit nearly every attempt in the fourth quarter to secure a narrow win.
