The Northeastern women’s basketball team will play its final regular-season game of the 2025-26 season on Saturday, March 7, against Hofstra at the Cabot Center. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on FloCollege and NESN+. Before the game, Northeastern will recognize its senior players in a pregame ceremony.
In their previous game, Northeastern lost to Hampton with a score of 77-71. Junior forward Justice Tramble led the Huskies with a career-high 24 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the field and making 10 out of 14 free throws. She also collected four rebounds. Sophomore guard Camryn Collins contributed 12 points and had a team-high seven rebounds. Junior guard Yirsy Quéliz added 11 points and five rebounds, while graduate guard Nariyah Simmons scored 11 points off the bench with efficient shooting.
Hofstra enters the matchup with an overall record of 7-21 and a conference record of 5-12 after losing to Drexel earlier this week. The Pride was selected ninth in the CAA Preseason Poll and has faced challenges throughout the season but recently secured a narrow win over Monmouth thanks to late three-pointers by senior guard Emma Von Essen. Von Essen surpassed 1,000 career points in December against St. John’s and currently leads the conference in three-pointers per game. Senior guard Chloe Sterling was named to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team, while senior forward Sandra Magolico has become one of the top rebounders in the league.
Northeastern previously defeated Hofstra this season, winning 62-60 on January 18 with Tramble scoring 13 points in that contest. Over their last ten meetings, Hofstra holds a slight advantage in the series, including a victory over Northeastern during last year’s CAA Tournament quarterfinals.
Saturday’s game will also serve as Senior Day for Northeastern’s graduating players. Graduate student guard Nariyah Simmons has played an important role this season after transferring from Kansas City and Austin Peay, leading her team in assists (50) and steals (46), along with recording double-digit scoring performances on several occasions. Redshirt senior Natalie Larrañaga has also made significant contributions since joining from Florida National, where she earned Conference First-Team honors and Defensive Player of the Year recognition before coming to Northeastern.
