Junior Allie Lalonde and sophomore Morgan Jackson each recorded three points as the No. 5 Northeastern women’s hockey team defeated Boston University 5-2 on Friday night in Boston.

Northeastern took an early lead in the first period with goals from Lalonde and senior Mia Langlois. Lalonde’s goal, her second in as many games, was assisted by Jackson and senior Kristina Allard. Langlois then scored to extend the lead to 2-0, with assists from freshman Ella Lloyd and junior Rylie Jones.

Boston University narrowed the gap just under four minutes into the second period when Clara Yuhn scored, making it 2-1. Northeastern responded later in the period as senior Lily Brazis scored at 16:41, assisted by freshman Emy McDermid and senior Jules Constantinople.

In the third period, Constantinople added a goal of her own with help from Lalonde and Jackson, increasing Northeastern’s lead to 4-1. Boston University answered quickly, scoring just 22 seconds later to cut the deficit to two goals.

Freshman Stryker Zablocki sealed the win for Northeastern with an empty-net goal late in the game, assisted by Lalonde and Jackson. Freshman goaltender Renna Trembecky made 20 saves to secure her seventh career victory.

Northeastern is scheduled to host Boston College on Sunday, February 15 at Bentley Arena.
