During the first quarter of 2026, Lighthouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center was under the ownership of Quinto Nexgen, LLC and UKR Nexgen, LLC, according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Based in Suffolk County, the nursing home has been managed by these two entities since Nov. 1, 2024.
The facility operates as a for-profit nursing home.
At that time, Lighthouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center earned an overall CMS rating of three, which falls below the Massachusetts state average for nursing homes, scored at 3.1. CMS bases ratings on health inspection results, staffing metrics, and resident care quality.
Data indicates the center provided care to an average of 116.7 residents per day during the first quarter of 2026, out of 123 total beds. The facility is not affiliated with a hospital.
Lighthouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center reported no fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.
Suffolk County had a total of nine for-profit nursing homes during that period.
Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show continued growth in the nation’s older adult population, as younger age segments decline. From 2020 through 2024, Americans aged 65 and older grew by 13%, while the number of individuals younger than 18 dropped by 1.7%. Over the past 100 years, the older adult population in the U.S. surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 study found that about half of this demographic, or around 28 million people, could need long-term services and support. It further estimated that more than one-third of them may eventually require nursing home care.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, which focuses on insurance education. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
