Peyton Forte of the Boston University men’s lacrosse team was named No. 14 on Inside Lacrosse’s early-season list of impact freshmen, according to an announcement on Mar. 19.
Forte has started every game at attack in his first season with the Terriers, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists for a total of 20 points over seven games. He has also recorded four caused turnovers and collected 12 ground balls. Forte has scored in each of the team’s seven games so far, including a standout performance with five goals against Dartmouth on Feb. 14. Only seven freshmen nationwide have scored more goals this season than Forte, who is also second among Patriot League rookies in goals scored.
Last season, Boston University had three players featured on Inside Lacrosse’s final list of impact freshmen: Timothy Shannehan, who was ranked first overall, as well as Andrew Pape and Madden Murphy.
The No. 15-ranked Terriers are set to continue their conference schedule on Saturday when they travel to face Colgate. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
