A Revere resident has admitted guilt in a federal court in Boston for illegally possessing ammunition linked to a shooting incident that occurred in January 2022. Kenneth Munoz, aged 27, entered a guilty plea to the charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition. The sentencing is set for April 9, 2025, by U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young.
The incident took place on January 2, 2022, when three individuals fired over twenty shots in an Everett neighborhood. This resulted in ballistic damage to nearby homes, with bullet holes found inside bedrooms and living rooms. Video surveillance from local residences captured the event and identified Munoz as one of the shooters involved. Due to prior convictions, Munoz is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
The offense carries a potential sentence of up to ten years imprisonment, followed by up to three years of supervised release and a fine that could reach $250,000. Sentencing will be determined based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy; James M. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Everett Police Chief Paul Strong; and Chelsea Police Chief Keith E. Houghton. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Hoefle from the Organized Crime & Gang Unit is handling the prosecution.
