Former Boston University men’s ice hockey player Sacha Boisvert became the 104th Terrier to appear in a National Hockey League game when he made his debut with the Chicago Blackhawks on March 27. Boisvert played just over nine minutes against the Philadelphia Flyers, joining former Terriers Ryan Greene and Alex Vlasic on the ice.
Boisvert is now the fifth Boston University alumnus to play for Chicago this season, alongside Greene, Vlasic, Drew Commesso, and Matt Grzelcyk. His appearance marks a continued tradition of BU players reaching professional hockey’s highest level.
During his most recent season with Boston University, Boisvert participated in 26 games and recorded three goals and fourteen assists for a total of seventeen points. He began his collegiate career by scoring one goal and two assists in a win over LIU on October 4. Later in the season, he achieved a personal best with four assists during a victory at Merrimack on November 8.
With Boisvert’s debut, twenty-four former Terriers have played at least one NHL game this season. Additionally, four different Terriers have made their first NHL appearances this year, including Cole Hutson who debuted on March 18.
The milestone underscores Boston University’s ongoing contribution to professional hockey through its men’s ice hockey program.
