Graduates earn 256 degrees, certificates from The New England Conservatory of Music

About 31.2 percent of the 256 degrees and certificates handed out by The New England Conservatory of Music in 2017-18 were to students in programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Boston conferred 47 master's degrees and 21 bachelor's degrees in stringed instruments programs.

Other popular programs include jazz/jazz studies, keyboard instruments and jazz/jazz studies.

The conservatory enrolled 838 students for 2017-18, including 468 in undergraduate programs and 370 in graduate programs.
