36 percent of applicants to The New England Conservatory of Music were admitted for fall 2018

At The New England Conservatory of Music, 97 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Boston enrolled 838 students in fall 2018, including 468 in undergraduate and 370 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

4 percent of undergraduates are residents of Massachusetts, and 56 percent are residents of other states. 39 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (37 percent) and Asian (9 percent).

The school admitted 36 percent of the 1,083 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 28 percent enrolled.
