48 percent of applicants to Berklee College of Music were admitted for fall 2018

At Berklee College of Music, 80 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Boston enrolled 6,963 students in fall 2018, including 6,400 in undergraduate and 563 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

8 percent of undergraduates are residents of Massachusetts, and 63 percent are residents of other states. 29 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (43 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (10 percent).

The school admitted 48 percent of the 6,820 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 39 percent enrolled.
