With 3:23 remaining in the 1st quarter, the Lions held a commanding 6-0 lead.
- Babson's Topher Bower found the net twice and Jacob Tauss added a goal of his own to cut the Lions lead in. half before the end of the 1st quarter. After the first 15 minutes of action, Emerson led 6-3.
- The 2nd quarter saw the momentum completely shift in favor of the Beavers. Babson outscored the Lions 5-1 in the quarter as Celotto scored the lone goal for Emerson. - Less than one minute into the 2nd half, Senior Hunter Gervais knotted the game at 8-8 as he scored an unassisted goal. Babson answered a few minutes later with 2 goals in under a minute span; giving Babson a 10-8 lead. Fulgione scored his 4th goal of the night to bring the Lions back within 1 goal, but Babson answered with 3 goals of their own including two goals by Chi Chi Price; both assisted by Matt Stucchi. After 3 quarters of action, Emerson faced a 13-9 deficit.
