Celotto, McGrath & Swan Earn NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Selections

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced their 2022 Men's Lacrosse Major Awards and All-Conference selections. The Emerson men's lacrosse team placed three athletes, the most since joining the conference in 2013. Emerson seniors Skyler Celotto and Malcolm McGrath and sophomore Birk Swan all picked up All-Conference nods - Celotto on first team, while McGrath and Swan earned second team selections.

SKYLER CELOTTO 

  • Second NEWMAC All-Conference selection with the first coming during freshman season in 2019
  • Became the Emerson men's lacrosse program's new all-time scoring leader 
  • Finished his senior campaign with a career-high 44 goals (five man-up) and 23 assists, alongside 52 ground balls and seven caused turnovers
  • During his Emerson career, Celotto notched 94 goals and 32 assists for 126 points to go with 144 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers
  • Notched season-best six goals in Emerson's 16-8 NEWMAC opening victory over Wheaton (Mass.) 
  • Recorded five goals in the Lions' playoff clinching 14-13 win down at Coast Guard 
  • Named NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week during the week of May 2nd

BIRK SWAN 

  • First NEWMAC All-Conference selection
  • Became the Emerson men's lacrosse program's new single-season point leader with 81 points
  • In his sophomore season, Swan recorded 35 goals (three man-up / two man-down) with 46 assists for 81 points alongside 35 ground balls and three caused turnovers 
  • Dished a season-high six assists at Saint Joseph's (Me.) 
  • Had two nine-point games (Manhattanville & Eastern Connecticut State) 
  • Named NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week during the week of March 14th

MALCOLM MCGRATH

  • First NEWMAC All-Conference selection 
  • McGrath finished his senior season in between the pipes with an overall record of 10-6 through 17 games 
  • Through 925 minutes, he recorded a goals against average of 11.22 on 173 goals allowed, while he registered a save percentage of .560 on 220 saves 
  • During his career, McGrath played over 2000 minutes in net with a goals against average of 11.72 and a save percentage of .549 on 523 stops for an overall record of 15-18
  • Came up with career-best 20 saves in Emerson's NEWMAC opening victory over Wheaton (Mass.)
  • Stopped 16 shots to help lead the Lions' to a playoff clinching 14-13 victory down at Coast Guard 
  • Had 13 games with 10+ saves 
  • Named NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week during the week of May 2nd
